Huge budgets and star cast never saved these films from tumbling at the Box Office. Much created hypes has not matched with the expectations of the audience and positioned the films in dustbin. Producers lost crores of Rupees thereby affecting the overall business of Telugu Film Industry and made the year 2010 as the worst one in the history of Telugu Cinema.
1) Puli
Pawan Kalyan and SJ Surya's crazy combination delivered the biggest flop of 2010. Pawan Kalyan's over action in the role of cop KOMARAM PULI angered the audience, especially his fans, to kick this film from BO in less than two weeks. Glitches in the story with weird action episodes and AR Rahman's music made this flick a poor show that cannot impress any one. Along with the hero, glamour of Nikisha Patel and Shriya didn't help the movie to save producer Singanamala Ramesh's 40 crore investment.
2) Khaleja
Powerful combination of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram could a deliver a hit in the name of KHALEJA. Sprawling time period of 3 years by wasting huge money of producer Singanamala Ramesh, the film evaporated the hopes of Mahesh’s fans. Though the movie got divide talk in the initial stages, hit show of 'Brindavanam' wiped this film from theatres. The film got closed with an average tag in the end, but burned the pockets of producer.
3) Kedi
In the lines of a Hollywood flick, Nagarjuna tried to establish himself as a stylish thief in the hearts of audience through KEDI. However, all his efforts went in vain, as most of the people carried pain relievers while watching watch this flick. Weak story and poor comedy track are responsible for the hue and cry of producer Siva Prasad Reddy.
4) Varudu
Though the director and producers of the movie created huge hype before releasing this movie by keeping heroine's face as a secret, audience revealed immediately after release, that the flick is a dud. Despite a six pack show of Allu Arjun as VARUDU, the movie has nothing to offer for the ticket buyer with a pale storyline and unconvincing twists. Mega budget was invested in useless sets and graphics that couldn’t pull any folk to the theatre.
5) Orange
Of all the disasters of 2010, Ram Charan's ORANGE has some special points to mention. Despite the hero's performance in a class role, this colorful love story made the producer's future dark. A confused storyline with an unclear message by Bommarillu Bhaskar played the spoil sport. Other reasons behind money loss are the overshot expenditures due to shooting abroad. Though the movie is doing some what better than many dud movies above, compared with the star power this has, surely the movie is a disaster. Producer Naga Babu himself is revealing that a loss of 6-9 crores is inevitable due to the unwanted excess budget.
