Storyline of Patiala House:

Gattu' is a man of 34 year old who woke up just the way he wakes up every morning for the last 17 years. He is a person who has come across the Southhall, opens the corner store athwart the tube station, keeps watching the boys playing cricket in the backlane, watches his father ruling a house, a family and a community in the last 25 years of his life.

He is a person who quitely bears the remarks that has been passed by young people, pours his heart out to his neighbour adopted brother lastly defy his father and star a movement that will shake the foundation of Patiala House.

Patiala House is a different movie in the track of Akshay Kumar who has given four movies hitting the screens in the last six months. Patiala House is based on the releationship of the father and a son. This happens to be a different flick when compared to his previous releases.

Patiala House is crafted as an inspiration to the young generation for chasing their dream and reaches the audience with a message. It also potrays about the family bonding.

Akshay has two faces in the flick one as an innocent and obedient son of his father and the other face of his is as a serious character who wants to play Internationa Cricket for Englanad but his father and his earlier experience of facing a racial attack during his youth becomes the hindrance of his way. Gattu runs his life in the shadow of Baiju but his lover interest Simran comes into his life who motivates the heartbroken Gattu to achieve the dreams. She gives her moral and mental support in order to make him assimilate that life is full of precarious thorns and difficult as well as knotty challenges at every step for all those who wish to becoem something in their life. She encourages him to show the determination for success against all hardships that needs to be crossed just to achieve your dream.

Gattu gets rejuvenated and gets back his lost courage to against his father`s orders and at the end he turns out to be a crickter for England.

Gattu realises that one has to take the tough route and face the hardships of life if one is aspirant of acquiring sparkling success in the life because we live only once.

Patiala House Movie Detailed Analysis:

After been mired in a string of controversies and adjournments, Patiala House is finally out, for the people to discern whether they have lent their ears to rightful rumours. After Tees Mar Khan, the movie seems to give Akshay, his heart a diastole. It has already conjured up some rave previews and I am not going to do otherwise.

Instead of basking along the sidelines of his son’s reflected glory as a cricketer, his father, who has some serious assimilation problems, wants him to rot himself running a convenient store in one of Southhill’s streets. So is the case of other members in that big family who secretly aspires to be a chef or a rap singer or a film maker. Rishi Kapoor (as Gurtej Singh Kahlon) dons the exasperating family honcho while Dimple Kapadia (as Mrs. Kahlon) comes as his wife.

Gurtej Singh is totally out of Rishi Kapoor’s league, though nobody else could have done it the way he did it. Dimple demands appreciation for the subtle display of the emotional mélange she enacted.

Akshay is sure our hero, but the amount of glycerin he sheds makes him a bit emasculated. This is believed to be a story based loosely on Montey Panesar, the Indian born, English bowler. Scheme of things in the movie has it that, Gattu might as well be Sreeshant, had Harbajan Singh was also there among the star cast.

In a nutshell the movie has comedy, emotion, drama and some cricket put together for you to watch. Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy gives the movie one last touch up it needs to be a commercial potboiler.
