Rahman earns BAFTA nomination

  • The 'Mozart of Madras', A R Rahman is in the race for his second BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) after being nominated in the Best Original Music category for Danny Boyle directed movie '127 Hours', just a day after losing the Golden Globe trophy.

    The 45-year-old music composer first won the award for his work in 'Slumdog Millionaire', directed by Danny Boyle. Rahman is facing competition from Danny Elfman from (Alice in Wonderland), John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon), Hans Zimmer (Inception) and Alexandre Desplat (The King's Speech).
