The Much awaited movie I is finally here. This is Director Shankar’s movie after Nanban. This film is in the news since the day it began its shooting. Some of the finest professionals like National award winner Vikram, Oscar winner ARRahman and National Award winner PC Sreeram worked for this film.

Plot: Lingesan (Vikram) is a village guy who aspires to become a Body Builder one day. While he is on the way to achieve his dream, he comes across Amy Jackson, who is a Top model and falls for her. Amy is an NRI who comes to India after 16 years. Lingesan decides to become a model himself. On the other hand, Upen Patel is another model who is jealous of Amy and wants to destroy her career. In this process, Upen loses his beauty. They create a medicine to regain the lost beauty. They choose Vikram to test the medicine. Did Vikram use that Medicine? what he does to win Amy and his goal forms the rest of the story.

Screenplay-Direction: Shankar has proved yet again that he is one of the top directors in the country. The story is not so complex with a guy loving a girl at first sight and trying to impress her. But he adds some crazy elements to make it complex. But the way he handled such subject needs to be applauded. Though it is a science fiction, he makes sure he adds commercial elements where ever possible to attract the masses. No wonder he caught the Public pulse. His Direction is near perfect, Though there were some inconsistencies in the screenplay, Overall he did a great job.

Other Departments: This film is a perfect example for all the 24 crafts coming good. In terms of Grandeur, This is one of the finest pictures ever made in India.Cinematographer PC Sreeram once again proved he is a Genius. He can claim this as his best work till date. Editor Anthony Gonsalves did a very fine job. This film is definitely on par with the Hollywood movies, specially in terms of Grandeur. Music by AR Rahman was outstanding. His Background score took the movie to another level.

Artists Performance: Vikram played three different characters. Village guy, Handsome Model and a Disfigured man . He excelled in all the three roles. Vikram’s hard work can be seen in every frame. He is one of the most Hard working and dedicated actor in our country. Truth to be told, Not many actors could have toiled so hard for a single movie. He gave his everything for I. His transformation from Village guy to Model was superb and one gets reminded of his transformation from Ramu to Remo in Aparichithudu. Vikram looked innocent as a Villager, Stylish as a Model and Cruel as a disfigured man. He is the Mr.Perfect of south Indian film industry.

Amy Jackson was a surprise. She looked stunning in every frame. She got an important role and did full justice to it. Shankar should get the credit for choosing her. She is sure to get more chances after this.
Upen Patel looked good as antagonist. He came as a breath of fresh air for the south Indian audience. Suresh Gopi, Santhanam and others were good in their brief roles.
